Cover cropping is a method of planting that helps build healthy soil. Cover crops keep the ground covered and help with continued carbon sequestration in non-production areas. When chosen and managed properly, cover crops can slow erosion, improve soil health, enhance water availability, suppress weeds, help control pests and diseases, increase biodiversity, benefit production for farmers, and help mitigate climate change.
